Welcome to the East Bay Cisco Study Group Pages
Purpose: To study as a group to be better prepared to attain certification. Motivate each other and share knowledge to learn quicker and get better at networking. We are currently looking for Study Group Leaders. There is a lot of interest. If you want to study with a partner; email "members at ebcug.org" and ask if someone is interested in your area.
Study Group Coordinators If you would like more information about the Cisco Study Groups or wish to organize another study group, please contact one of the study group coordinators above. We also have a few suggestions listed here. If you are interested in participating in one of the study groups, please note that active participation is required! All members that participate in a study group will be expected to contribute in some way that will be beneficial to the group. In other words, no free loaders are welcome. If you just want to attend without putting anything in to the study group, might I suggest that you take a Cisco class? I don't mean to be sarcastic when I say this, but I want to emphasize that these are study groups and not classes/seminars that are primarily led by one individual. Examples as to what one can contribute to a study group are as follows:
If you are entry level, have no Cisco equipment or do not desire to take a leadership role, please be willing to assume some of the following responsibilities:
"The main reason why I decided to get involved with the Cisco Users Group is to interact with other people who share the same common career interests as myself. As a result of this, I have found it to be a valuable resource in my career progression (assistance with my studies, contacts Ive made that will likely open up opportunities in the near future, thought provoking technical discussions, valuable on hands experience, accountability towards my certification goals, etc). It would be my hopes that those interested in heading down the same path as myself towards the ultimate goal of a CCIE may find these study groups beneficial as well." Matt Seppeler |
